Mercedes-Benz Group AG’s chief design officer Gorden Wagener said that that artwork shows off “the strong geometry of the G-Class merged with the organic forms of Moncler puffer jackets.”Mercedes-Benz and Moncler (MILAN:MONC.MI +0.70%) have partnered for an out of this world collaboration, bringing together the world of motors and puffers to the Mercedes G-Wagon.This particular re-imagination of the G-Class is known as Project Mondo G. The piece itself took over a year in the making and sees the heavy-duty wagon feature high-gloss reflective surfaces that are formed in the shape of Moncler’s puffers, highlighting part of the roof of the car and the wheels. A massive zipper detail with Moncler’s branding is seen on the back of the car. In all, Project Mondo G weighs 2.5 tons. In the past, Mercedes has had various partnerships, including global fashion weeks for the past 28 years. In 2023, the automotive company plans to continue its fashion partnerships with Madrid, Tbilisi, Mexico and Prague.
